Who Created Bitcoin?
In 2008, someone (or a group) using the name Satoshi Nakamoto published a 9-page document called the "Bitcoin whitepaper." It described a way to send money online without needing a bank.
In January 2009, Satoshi launched the Bitcoin network and mined the very first block (the "genesis block"). For a couple of years, Satoshi discussed ideas with other developers on forums — then vanished in 2011.
To this day, nobody knows who Satoshi really is. It could be one person, a team, or someone we've never heard of. What matters is the invention itself: a system that works without needing to trust anyone in particular.
